Ian McEwan

Ian McEwan (1948-) is an English novelist and screenwriter. McEwan has written short stories and novels. Several of his novels have been made into films, e.g. Enduring Love (1997) and Atonement (2001). He received the Man Booker Prize for the novel Amsterdam (1998). McEwan includes major global issues in his writing; an example of this is his latest novel Solar (2010) on global warming, and in the Man and Nature section of Wider Contexts you will find a poem on the same theme based on his participation in a polar expedition (p. 223).
