Steven Millhauser

Steven Millhauser (1943- ) is an American novelist and short story writer. In 1997 he won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction for his novel Martin Dressler. Many of Millhauser’s stories are about people who want to leave behind their humdrum everyday lives for a world of fantasy. In his stories there is often a blend of the plausible and the fantastic. “The Knife Thrower” first appeared in the short story collection entitled The Knife Thrower And Other Stories (1998).
