Ursula K. Le Guin

Ursula K. Le Guin (1929- ) was born in California. She has written novels, short stories, books for children and poetry. She is best known for her fantasy and science-fiction stories. “The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas” was first published in the American magazine New Directions in 1973, and the following year it won the prestigious Hugo Award for best short story.
